Thank you for joining us on a Lenten journey to draw one inch closer to God and one inch closer to His Kingdom. We have suspended our weekday texts until next Lent. We'll be in touch next year to see you would like to join us on the journey again!
John 11:25-26: I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die.
Do you want to draw closer to God today?
Are you like us and struggle to stay with or keep up with the daily devotional, bible reading, sunday school, accountability groups or the Jesus clubs in your life? We all know that for eternity’s sake, nothing matters more than building a relationship with God but sometimes it seems less urgent than the grocery shopping, work, pilates class, laundry etc... How many times have you thought, “I have to do better in this area of my life”… and then done little or nothing to make it happen as the days and weeks pass by?
What if it were possible to start walking on a path toward God one minute a day… are you willing to commit to one minute a day to draw closer to God? This is not meant to be a replacement for church or bible study or small groups. It’s meant to be a step in the right direction, one inch at a time. Sign up here for a text reminders if you can commit to one minute a day of dedicated time to draw nearer to God.
If you commit to inching toward loving God better and and loving your neighbor better, imagine how many people you can bring along with you. We live in such a divided time, we need to find a way to move forward together on a path of love and the best way to do that is together, on a movement of Love.
Jesus is the ultimate movement of love and our job here on earth is to look more like Jesus everyday. Stretch out your arms and invite someone into the movement of love through your prayers, actions and life, one minute at a time.
Habits are formed by sticking with a plan and research shows that we stick with plans that are manageable and where we see success quickly. The world famous Dave Ramsey has helped thousands of people get out of debt and become fiscally responsible one small step at a time. He advises to pay off your smallest debt first which doesn’t make fiscal sense but he has found that little successes lead to big successes because people are willing to stay on the path. How many diets have you tried that didn’t work because they were too hard to sustain over time… if you are like us, the answer is all of them! There is a reason so many people have had success with the couch to 5K model of getting fit. It’s the proven technique of starting with the tiniest of baby steps and feeling success on each manageable leg of the journey. I don’t know what a 5K in nearness to God looks like but I’m certain we can take the first step together.
Commit to seven minutes this week and we’ll help you put the tools in place to guarantee success. I know, you may be thinking, seven minutes sounds pretty lame. Remember, seven minutes isn’t the end, it’s just the beginning and every great journey starts with one step forward. If drawing nearer to God is truly something you want, you have nothing to lose by dedicating one minute a day and see where the journey can take you.
We live in a wild time where we have constant demands on our time, constant noise and distractions and it’s hard to build a habit of drawing nearer to God. We are committed to your success in this area and are here to walk with you, one small step at a time.
